COS × Serpentine Galleries Park Nights 2016

COS is proud to support Serpentine Galleries Park Nights 2016, a series of live events on art, architecture, music, film, literature and dance programmed for the new Serpentine Pavilion in London.

Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), this year’s structure takes the most basic form of architecture, the brick wall, and transforms it into a semi-opaque, undulating structure.

For the first year, the Serpentine Galleries have also commissioned four international architects to each design a 25sqm Summer House inspired by the nearby Queen Caroline’s Temple, a classical style summer house, built in 1734 and a stone’s throw from the Serpentine Gallery.

The 2016 Park Nights programme runs from June to September and invites participants to devise new, site-specific live works in response to the Pavilion. Exploring the agency and performative potential of the live encounter, this year’s series focuses on themes of storytelling, ritual and revolt.

We take a look back at the past 15 years of Serpentine Pavilions, featuring iconic commissions by architects Zaha Hadid, Rem Koolhaas and Sou Fujimoto, as well as highlights from each year’s Park Nights programme…

To mark our support of the Park Nights programme, we have designed two limited edition T-shirts for men and women. Featuring relaxed proportions and minimal detailing, all proceeds from their sale will be donated to the Serpentine Trust.
