Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), this year’s structure takes the most basic form of architecture, the brick wall, and transforms it into a semi-opaque, undulating structure.
For the first year, the Serpentine Galleries have also commissioned four international architects to each design a 25sqm Summer House inspired by the nearby Queen Caroline’s Temple, a classical style summer house, built in 1734 and a stone’s throw from the Serpentine Gallery.
We take a look back at the past 15 years of Serpentine Pavilions, featuring iconic commissions by architects Zaha Hadid, Rem Koolhaas and Sou Fujimoto, as well as highlights from each year’s Park Nights programme…
To mark our support of the Park Nights programme, we have designed two limited edition T-shirts for men and women. Featuring relaxed proportions and minimal detailing, all proceeds from their sale will be donated to the Serpentine Trust.
